Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and Academy submissions

As an academy or Multi Academy Trust (MAT), there are two methods of supplying your monthly MCR file or MDC file, contribution breakdown form and corresponding payment. These are:

Method one - MAT submission

All the data for your academies and centralised staff is supplied on one single file under your 751 number. You should then make a single payment matching the total you’ve submitted in your MCR file or for MDC, a single contribution breakdown form and matching payment. Only one End of Year Certificate (EOYC) should be submitted.

Method two - Academy submission

Each academy is submitted on its own MCR or MDC file. In addition, any centralised staff should be provided on a separate MCR or MDC file. You should then make a payment for each establishment that matches the MCR file or for MDC, a contribution breakdown form and matching payment for each establishment. An EOYC should be submitted for each establishment.

Now that we‘re entering a new financial year it’s a good time to review your monthly submissions.

If you’ve elected to submit using method one – MAT submission, please submit one payment and one breakdown/file per trust encompassing all establishments.

If you’ve elected to submit using method two - Academy submission, please ensure we receive one payment and one breakdown/file per establishment.
